Waiting for the thaw
It’s been snowy and icy at Chiron, but the preparation for the arrival of two new medicine horses is in full session.
Two more stalls have been added to the sides of the barn, and the new cross fence running around the southwest corner of the property, will remind the horses to stay on it while renegotiating the herd dynamic with the new mares.
Halliday has been preparing the horses for the changes and comforted them along the way. Spirit especially is not impressed with the fence, and demanded some extra communication.
And now we wait. For the weather to warm up. For the snow to stop falling. For the ice to melt, so it’s safe for the horses to welcome the mares in their natural equine way.
