Visiting a client horse

A healing session with someone else's horse sometimes reflects a simultaneous healing session with the owner.

Prep in the car
Halliday spends a chunk of her work day visiting clients. Preparation is often done in the car. Here, before she leaves her driveway, she checks her work sheets which include notes about the client horse she took during a phone conversation with the owner, and an acupressure plan.

The owner
Halliday meets Mariko, the owner of Jewel, the equine patient. Mariko has some reservations and skepticism about holistic healing, but agrees to try it out nevertheless. (Halliday is holding a sheet with an equine acupressure chart and notes about Jewel.)

Jewel
Jewel is a gentle and calm little mare who's suffering from painful urination. Halliday begins the session by observing the animal and reading its behavior and 'aura'. She also might be communicating with her through mental images.

Consultation
Halliday consults with Mariko to get information about the mare’s background. Mariko is very protective of Jewel and keeps telling Halliday what the mare likes or dislikes, or what she thinks might hurt her. Interesting to note that Mariko is intuitively placing her hands on Jewel’s Bladder Meridian and Sacral chakra which are related to the mare's ailment. Mariko is thus helping the mare without even knowing.

Third eye
The healing session moves under the roof due to heavy rain. Halliday places her hand on Jewel's Third Eye. The mare then starts to circle around Halliday to stretch and adjust. The session takes about an hour during which Jewel makes quite a few circles as she is processing the energy work.

The horse and the owner are one
While Halliday proceeds with energy work and acupressure, working on Jewel's Bladder Meridian, Mariko is doing her best balancing her reservations/protectiveness of the mare, and her wish for the mare to get better. Halliday divides her attention and energy equally between the horse and the owner, because their energies and issues seem to be connected. Both Jewel and Mariko play a role in the mare's healing.

The Medicine Horse
At one point, Jewel reveals her Medicine Horse ability. As Halliday works on the mare's Bladder Meridian, the mare turns to work the same spot on Halliday's body. This is a perfect example of how horses work from a place of equality and partnership.

The weather clears up
After the session, Halliday checks with Mariko, who seems relieved and more convinced of the effectiveness of Halliday's healing methods. They agree on one more visit and possibly a phone call to check up.
